You might have noticed that a lot of packs by visbot, avsociety, Winamp-Forums and myself were updated in the last couple of days. The reason for that is the release of PimpBot 4 and it's a good reason. If you've been wise enough to keep your .pimp files, you are advised to recompile your previous installers.
Why bother? Going through some of the old installers, I have noticed many use a faulty install routine, ultimately forcing the user to move the files to the proper location. PimpBot 4 has the yet best install routines for AVS, MilkDrop or SPS presets. It handles alternate visualization directories, supports a handful of AVS modifications by default and has the yet best APE handling.
If you want your presets to be seen and not cause any trouble to the user, you should upgrade PimpBot and rebuild your installers. In case you lost your precious .pimp files, there are several ways to help you out: use DropFolder (or FuzzyDrop) or some of the useful tools in your PimpBot folder. Got a zillion .pimp files and you're afraid of the work? Don't be!

So, it's been a while since I last posted here and I don't even know if anyone of my old friends and followers will even get the chance to read this post. I don't plan to go into the details of the last 10+ years. Life just happened, as they say. However, for a couple of months some old AVS people have been hanging out in various chats and we have now found a new home on Discord. As you might have heard – there has been a bit of buzz – Jordan Eldredge's has reimplemented Winamp 2 in JavaScript. This project is know as Webamp, and includes a collaboration with the Internet Archive. Together the two also host the Winamp Skin Museum. Through all this, we got into touch with Jordan and have our own #avs channel on Discord. We primarily talk about the development of a new AVS version by @grandchild, but also about other, related projects such as now-abandoned Webvs. Either way, if you're interested or think you can contribute to one of these projects, feel invited to join us
The new VISBOT website
Alright, so here we are in late 2013. About ten years ago visbot (https://www.deviantart.com/visbot) was founded, and if my memory serves me well, the first release came out in February or March 2003. We had a bunch of shabby websites from early on, some revisions can still be viewed on Wayback Machine. Throughout the years, the layout changed a couple of times and so did the backend. But for a group of people busy in the visual field, our website had all been remarkably text-based. Sure, we had screenshots here on DevianArt, or on Customize, Winamp and some other sites that are long gone. It was possibly difficult for outsiders to get an idea of our craft, but that is abo

Quick question, i've never used Pimpbot ever. I read on the pimpbot site that it can detect APE's avs presets need, but can it also detect pictures required by some presets via picture render, picture 2, texer & texer II?
